A report on the current status of
corruption matters sent to the Presidency on March 20 this year lists
many current and former government officials as suspects in some 124
cases in various stages of investigation.
This was revealed after Senate
Majority Leader Kindiki Kithure on Tuesday tabled the document that had
been appended to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s State of the Nation
submissions last week. Debate on the matter began Tuesday.
Apart from the five Cabinet
Secretaries, nine governors and other public officials already named,
the list of people under investigation includes former Secretary to
Cabinet Francis Kimemia, NPSC Chairperson Johnston Kavuludi, Nairobi
Senator Mike Sonko, Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama, former Lands
minister James Orengo, former Cabinet minister Chirau Ali Mwakwere, and
former IEBC executives James Oswago and Wilson Shollei.
Others include former Chief of
Staff at the Office of the Prime Minister Caroli Omondi, former High
Court Registrar Gladys Shollei, Auditor-General Edward Ouko, former
Information PS Bitange Ndemo, NSSF Managing Trustee Richard Langat and
former Investment Secretary Esther Koimett.
KNEC chief executive Paul
Wasanga, FKF secretary-general Sam Nyamweya, former Nairobi mayor George
Aladwa, former PS Rebecca Nabutola, former Mumias Sugar
MD Peter Kebati, Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter and Mt Elgon MP John Serut
are also under investigation for various alleged economic crimes.
It is alleged that Mr Mwakwere
used his office in 2006 to deny former Kenya Railway Corporation
employees a chance to purchase houses set aside for them to buy. Mr
Kimemia and Ms Koimett are cited in the same scheme. The former
Secretary to the Cabinet is also being investigated over irregularities
in a Sh1 billion Interior ministry tender.
Mr Orengo and Mr Aladwa are tied
to irregular disposal of a parcel of land in Westlands for Sh320
million, with the then minister allegedly pocketing a Sh5 million bribe.
Caroli Omondi is being probed
over the purchase of a parcel of land on Loita Street, Nairobi, from
Kenya Commercial Bank for Sh220 million before flipping it to a buyer
waiting in the wings for Sh650 million.
Mr Ndemo and Mr Muthama are named among half a dozen others over the irregular procurement of Konza ranch.
Mr Oswago and his deputy Shollei are being investigated over the procurement of electronic voter identification devices.
Mr Kavuludi is accused of abuse of office for allegedly making trips abroad and failing to account for the funds.
Governors Isaac Ruto (Bomet),
Evans Kidero (Nairobi), Ali Joho (Mombasa), Peter Munya (Meru), Alfred
Mutua (Machakos), Nadhif Jama (Garissa), Godana Doyo (Isiolo), Ukur
Yattani (Marsabit) and Cyprian Awiti (Homa Bay), all named in media
reports, are confirmed to be in the list.
Also under investigation are
Governors Amason Kingi (Kilifi), Okoth Obado (Migori), Samuel Tunai
(Narok) and Josephat Nanok (Turkana).

According to state house report, United States president Barack Obama will be visiting Kenya July. A number of Kenyans are happy that a son of Kenya who became the first black president of America is finally coming to his homeland. It is a trip that will raise a lot of criticism and controversy from the republicans ahead of US elections.
Obama, who made his last trip to Kenya as a senator in 2006, is scheduled to meet with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in an effort to boost economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa
This will be Obama's fifth trip to Kenya, almost 10 years after he last made the journey. Though there is no word of whether he will see family members, during his last trip, he made a point to visit his father's home village of Nyang'oma-Kogelo.
It has been noted that, most Americans are not happy with president barrack Obama’s visit to Kenya. March 30, 2015, AFP writer Andrew Beatty posted an article that appeared on Yahoo about president Obama’s Kenya visit. The post attracted over 6,600 comments mostly from Americans. About 80% of the comments indicated that Americans are not happy with Obama’s visit to his said fatherland Kenya. This how some of the comments read;

Ohangala maker Tony Nyadundo in fame with his song' ndoa ya machozi' critically attacked in Kisumu and hospitalised on Thursday by a gang of unknown armed robbers who left the veteran Luo hit-maker with severe head injuries.

A Kasarani man was arraigned in court for allegedly engaging in a beastiality act with a chicken.
The man, Stanley Lembara, reportedly committed the offence on March 16 at Kasarani. According to SDE, Stanley was busted in the act by the owner of the chicken.
“I heard commotion outside my house. When I rushed out, I found the suspect having s'ex with the chicken. At first, I thought he wanted to steal it, but I was shocked. The chicken was bleeding from behind,” he told police.
Veterinary officers confirmed injuries to the dead chicken.
Stanley had to part with Ksh 50,000. The case will be heard on June 12.

A woman has been admitted at Nairobi Women’s Hospital in Hurligham after being r@ped by Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti in his Westland office. The MP had lured the unsuspecting woman on Saturday night to his office after telling her that they were going to discuss a business deal.
Mwiti allegedly forced the woman to carry a HIV/Aids test in his office before r@ping her for hours. The MP was accompanied by a doctor who forcibly took samples of her blood for testing before raping her. The doctor runs a clinic in Ngara.
The victim, a former journalist, reported the s3xual assault to her husband who was not spared threats by the MP. When contacted by a leading media house, the MP first denied before admitting that he met the woman between 5pm-7pm at a bar near his Westlands office.
He said:
I did not do the things you are saying and no police officer has called me. I know her and I also know the husband. We met yesterday (Saturday) before 7pm before I went to Njugunas for a meeting with my constituents,”
“She is doing my public relations project, but that is not done at night. Yes I know her very well. I have met her before. I am giving her the contract and she is to give me a quotation, but not at night,”
Police took blood samples of the woman which will be used to compare with those taken from the MP once they get hold of him. The MP however stated that he is ready to be examined to prove his innocence.
“I am 100 per cent ready to be examined, even now. If I am contacted, I will present myself.”
“She was to meet him earlier but the MP kept postponing the meeting until 10pm and he said the documents needed to be signed on that day,”

The MP proceeded to beat her after she sneaked to a toilet after breaking the door then raped without using protection. She was let free at 1:30 am. Mwiti asked the husband to meet him to bury the matter but he refused prompting the MP to issue him with threats.
The doctor who forcibly carried the HIV test said when contacted:
“You are stranger and I don’t know who you are. I can neither confirm nor deny what you are saying. Come to my office here in Ngara,”
