KTN's investigative reporter, Mohammed Ali, has received crucial
information from a military officer on the serious loopholes in our
security system days after the infamous Garissa attack that left 147
students dead and scores injured.
The military officer claims that the frequent terror attacks will
continue as long as security agencies are disorganized. He went ahead
and disclosed how security forces made useless mistakes leading to more
deaths of innocent students. Here's the message Moha received from a
military officer that will make many Kenyans worried about the security
situation in our country.
"I know nothing about the military tactics but take a view....this
is from a soldier. Guys it's this simple. We are in a situation as a
country where 1980 protocols to a21st century problem will not hack it.
There will be more attacks and trust you me you won't get 2weeks notice!
The Intel was there what actions could have been carried out to stop
the threat if not to mitigate the loss of life.
We all knew the threat existed and it had even narrowed down the
locations under threat. The attacks started and this is our reaction.
Send military platoons from their base 420meters away to setup a cordon
around the campus guarding who? You secure the scene well and as you
wait the shooters keep on doing their dastardly deeds.
We then send the I.G in a chopper with his cabinet Secretary to
spectate at the scene as the nuggets keep on killing. Now, we then put
my friends from Ruiru in their VXs and prados to cross over by road 5hrs
to the location of the incident that is unfolding and immediately they
arrived they were given the go-ahead to carry out their entry. 17minutes
and they walk out problem solved. Question, who should have been the
first guys to get on a chopper to transport them to the scene? Question,
It's simple Hostage Rescue Protocols that save lives.
FYI,the old system where first responders set up a perimeter then
waited for HRT specialist teams to come and do an entry to resolve a
situation. ... .was thrown out of the window a few years ago. As you sit
behind cover encircling a location the active shooters in side are
killing. It happened in Westgate today in Garrisa and it will happen
again. End result, hundreds killed. Dude to shoot and kill 158 peeps
needs some form of efficiency! We train it over and over and over. . . .
.first men in first men hit. You don't wait for 100 men to get to the
scene, you go in as soon as you have enuff men to run a stack.
The longer you wait, the more people die. An entry stack comprises
of minimum 4men and usually 6 if numbers permit and depending on entry
formation the team leader decides to use. All of an entire barracks did
not have anyone with that basic skill? Yes given its a skill set that
one trains to perfect but surely is that how low or little our security
services military inclusive know about CQB? Sending a T-72 tank to a HRT
situation is sending those bastards another window to showcase their
'cause' Mark my words. . . . .Westgate we sent APC's to do? Today Main
Battle Tanks were in the vicinity. . .next attack these guys will have
RPGs and will escalate to another level their devil's deeds and light up
a tank.
We need to smell the coffee and wake up. Wake up from this slumber
that is so expensively paid for in Kenyan blood. To the departed souls.
..RIP. Above from a soldier."
