Tragedy struck in Makongeni, Nairobi as a four storey building collapsed on Wednesday morning.
The building is reported to have collapsed at around 3am. Most of the tenants are said to be students at the Technical University of Kenya. One person succumbed to the injuries on the way to hospital according to Kenyatta National Hospital spokesperson.
Rescue operations were conducted by teams from the Kenya National Disaster Operation Centre, the Kenya Red Cross Society, the Nairobi City Fire Brigade and the National Youth Service.
Over 30 families are believed to have been living in the building which was still under construction.
